Firearms Owners Against Crime has been led by Kim Stolfer for nearly 30 years. His leadership and steadfast dedication in defending the individual rights of Pennsylvanians, in protecting and upholding Article 1 Section 21 of the Pennsylvania Constitution and the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution has been unmatched.

On Sunday, December 11th, 2022, Kim Stolfer announced that he was stepping down as President of FOAC-ILLEA. As per the FOAC-ILLEA bylaws, 1st Vice President, Jim Stoker has assumed the role of President. Kim gave Jim a glowing endorsement during his final address as President.

In a special meeting of the FOAC-ILLEA board of directors on Thursday, December 15th, the board unanimously voted to install Jim Stoker as President of FOAC-ILLEA as per the bylaws and the wishes of Kim.

After the vote, Jim Stoker said,

 “No man can fill Kim’s shoes, but I will do my best to lead this organization that Kim founded, and continue his fight, OUR fight against tyrants, for Liberty and the individual’s right to self-defense.”

The board also unanimously voted to appoint Klint Macro to the office of 1st Vice President.

The last order of business in the meeting was to appoint Kim Stolfer as President Emeritus, a special advisor to the President.

Jim has advised the board that he will be seeking their advice as he intends to fill 2 vacant board seats in the very near future.

FOAC-ILLEA is moving into 2023 with a determined President and a united Board of Directors who will continue to advance the cause of Liberty for all Pennsylvanians.

STEPS to Safe Tree Stand Hunting

By remembering these STEPS to tree stand safety, you can reduce your risk of falling and be prepared to signal for help if you do fall.

Safety harness or belt: Always wear a full-body safety harness whenever your feet leave the ground. Tree stand maintenance: Check your stand for missing or broken parts before each use. Evaluate your stand site: Select trees that are alive and will support your weight. Partners and plans: Hunt with a partner and have a plan in case of an emergency. Signals: Carry a whistle or other signaling device should you need assistance.

Hunting Safety Tips

  • Positively identify your target. Be sure you are shooting at legal game. Never shoot at sounds or movement.
  • Stay in the zone! Hunters should be spaced 25 to 40 yards apart, and always in sight of one another. Each hunter’s zone of fire spans about 45 degrees directly in front of the hunter.   • Plan your hunt! Let someone know where you’re hunting and when you’ll return.
  • Buckle up! If you hunt from an elevated stand, always wear a full-body, fall-restraint device as soon as your feet leave the ground until they return.
  • Keep fit! Hunting is hard work. Don’t become a statistic. keep physically fit. Start with a check-up and follow your doctor’s advice.
  • Stay found! Become familiar with your hunting area. Learn how to use a map and compass or GPS unit. Be prepared for emergencies. Carry a basic survival kitOpens In A New Window and know how to use it.
  • Be seen! Wear or display the required amount of fluorescent orange clothing.

Turkey Hunting Safety Tips

To keep turkey huntingOpens In A New Window a safe and enjoyable activity, follow these rules:
  • Positively identify your target! Be certain the bird is fully and plainly visible before pulling the trigger. Don’t shoot at sounds or movement.
  • Never stalk a turkey! Movement or sounds you think are a turkey may be another hunter. Be patient; let the bird come to you.
  • Protect your back. Select a large tree, rock or other natural barrier while calling. Hunt in open woods.
  • Shout “STOP” to alert approaching hunters. Never move, wave or make turkey sounds to alert others of your position.
  • Dress to be safe. Never wear red, white, blue or black clothing. These are the colors found on mature gobblers.
  • Cover up. Don’t carry harvested birds in the open. Cover them with fluorescent orange or completely conceal from view in a game bag.
  • Be seen. Wear or display the required amount of fluorescent orange, particularly when moving.

Primary Firearm Safety Rules

Safe Direction: Keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction at all times.
Make sure: Positively identify your target.
Always check: Know what’s beyond your target before shooting.
Respect firearms: Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.

Assault Weapons Ban Full House on HR1808

The House Judiciary Committee has ADVANCED a ban on so-called “assault weapons” for a full floor vote in Pelosi’s House. HR-1808   The more Representatives who vote against it in the House, the greater the chances this bill quickly DIES in the Senate… 

But if this bill gets strong bipartisan support in the House, Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn could give it serious consideration in the Senate.

That’s why I’m urging you to tell your representative to VOTE NO on HR-1808, banning some of the most commonly owned firearms in America. 

Please add your name to our pre-written letter to Congress to STOP the ban on so-called “assault weapons.”

Pelosi’s House has been holding televised, emotion-fueled hearings to instill fear in the American people and justify their crackdown on commonly-owned firearms.  We shouldn’t be surprised to learn that a bunch of people who use the term “assault weapons” turn out to know virtually nothing about guns. 

Rep. Cicilline, the congressman who called the Constitution “bulls**t,” claimed that a stabilizing brace is a bump stock that turns a gun into a machine gun.  Rep. McBath doubled down on Cicilline’s absurdity. She stated that gun owners with disabilities like to claim that a stabilizing brace helps provide them with stability, but that they actually want to use the brace to turn their firearm into a machine gun! 

And Rep. Hank Johnson – the congressman who once thought an island could capsize in the ocean if too many people stood on it – said that we can’t take “assault weapons” away from government bureaucrats, because bureaucrats need those weapons to protect themselves from “misfits.” 

In other words: government leeches have a right to defend themselves, but you’re on your own, Robert. 

YOUR God-given right to defend yourself is being decided by a bunch of taxpayer-funded politicians who have private security forces and know virtually NOTHING about guns. 

The Supreme Court’s recent Bruen decision reaffirmed that the right to keep and bear arms is not limited to those weapons that were only available in 1791.  Just as we have First Amendment protected speech on computers and cell phones, even though neither of those were around during the ratification of the Bill of Rights, we have a constitutionally protected right to keep and bear modern-day sporting rifles. 

But unless we take action, a new “assault weapons” ban could make it through the House and Senate, and land on Joe Biden’s desk. 

That’s why we urgently need your help alerting the House to VOTE NO on HR-1808

The fewer votes this “assault weapons” ban gets in the House, the easier it will be to DEFEAT it in the Senate.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”

Upon the signing of our Declaration of Independence, as I noted in my recent column, “Independence Day and Our Legacy of Liberty,” John Adams wrote to his wife, Abigail, that the 4th of July “ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty.” He continued, “It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

He added: “You will think me transported with Enthusiasm, but I am not. I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will triumph in that Days Transaction, even although We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not.”

On this, our nation’s Celebration of Independence, I invite you to read about the history of Independence Day and the foundational Unalienable Rights of Man.

Reflecting on the American Revolution in 1818, John Adams observed: “But what do we mean by the American Revolution? Do we mean the American war? The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations. … This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution.”

And thus it has remained “in the minds and hearts” of American Patriots to this day.

As President Ronald Reagan warned: “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

To that end, we remain vigilant, strong, prepared, and faithful.

On this Independence Day, and every day, join us in prayer for our Patriots in uniform — Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen — and all who stand in harm’s way in defense of Liberty. Pray also for their families who also bear the burden and sacrifice of defending Freedom.

Full payment is required with each application to reserve a spot at camp.

In order to adequately purchase supplies needed for the campers, a full refund of $200.00 will be permitted until June 5,  2022 if the camper is withdrawn from camp. After this date, refunds will be subject to approval if a camper is withdrawn from camp.

CAMPERS WILL RECEIVE A WELCOME PACKET THROUGH THE MAIL UPON APPROVAL OF APPLICATION AND PAYMENT

CABIN MATES

Due to numerous complications with multiple cabin requests, we limit your request to ONE cabin mate request.

While we will do our best to accommodate cabin mates, requests are not guaranteed.
