The Aliquippa Bucktails is the oldest sportsmen’s club in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Meetings were originally held at various locations in downtown Aliquippa. An old schoolhouse was donated in the early 1940s. It was disassembled and relocated to its present site in Hopewell Township on 50 wooded acres. It is located on what is known as Bucktail Hill. On the grounds is a 300-yard rifle range, two trap fields, a skeet field, 25-yard indoor pistol range, an archery range, a club house and a membership building supporting trap and skeet activities. Trap and skeet practice are open to the public every Wednesday from 1-3pm and Friday evenings from 5:30pm until 10pm. Membership is open (however, there is currently a waitlist) with an initiation fee the first year. Junior membership is available for ages 12 through 17 with no initiation fee. Senior membership is available for ages 62 and older with an initiation fee the first year. The membership year is July 1st through June 30th. The membership is currently full with 400 members. Membership meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm. The club hosts three annual events, a Fall Pig Roast, a Christmas Party for children and a February Wild Game Dinner. The club is a member of the NRA, Civilian Marksmanship Program and Beaver County Conservation Trap League. Take Interstate 376 to the Aliquippa exit, exit to the East towards Aliquippa, and go approximately 3A mile to Brodhead Road, turn right onto Brodhead, go approximately ZA mile, the club is on your left.
